Curtis Elwin McDonald was born July 22, 1925 in Lakewood the son of Homer Morris and Elsie Pearl (Munson) McDonald.
He married Hilda Marie Bullock December 29, 1945, in Shelbyville and she preceded him in death August 19, 1984. He then married Nancy Cannon Starwalt November 26, 1988, in Tennessee and she preceded him in death October 13, 2011. He graduated from Shelbyville High School and then served in the US Army during WW II from 1944 - 1946. He was a retired farmer, member and board chairman of the Lakewood United Methodist Church and then a member of the Tower Hill Methodist Church, Gideon's, VFW and American Legion, in Shelbyville, Tower Hill Lions Club, Lakewood Township Board, Shelby County Farm Bureau, Illinois Agriculture Association, Lakeland College Foundation Board, former member and president of the Shelbyville School Board, state director of the Health Improvement Board and a blood donor giving over 20 gallons
Surviving are his children, Jeanette (Jim) Nacke, David (Alice) McDonald, Norma (Mike) Walters, Darrell (Amy C.) McDonald and Amy Jo (Scott) Flaig; step-children, Robert (Pam) Thompson, Kenneth (Rhea) Thompson, Laurie (Charles) Sewell of Baxter and Karen (David) Rogers Hogan; brother, Stanley McDonald; sister, Nelda Koontz; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wives, Hilda and Nancy and brothers, Ervil, Wayne and Paul McDonald.
