Elizabeth (Betty) Berube passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 25 at the age of 95. Born January 5, 1919 in Nashua, NH, she was afforded an opportunity to live and experience life in many different facets that many of us will never get to experience.

Married in 1942, Betty and husband Lt. Col. Paul G. Berube (deceased) came to Oregon in 1968 after retiring from the United States Air Force. Prior to Oregon, she and Paul were fortunate enough to live in many beautiful parts of our great county through her husband's military service. Their life together took them to Mobile, AL; Macon, GA; Oklahoma City, OK; Harrisburg, PA; Sacramento, CA and finally Mt. Angel, OR. They also spent time overseas living in Japan upon two different occasions as well as Chateauroux, France for six years which she enjoyed as she spoke fluent French and could easily converse with the local population. She and Paul celebrated 53 wedding anniversaries together prior to his death in 1995.

She lived a full life and very much enjoyed her family. She loved being with her children and they loved being with her. She enjoyed playing cards with her children and her grandchildren and was very good at it.

Betty resided at the Mt. Angel Towers for 18 years and prior to that in Scotts Mills, OR. The family sends their appreciation to all of the staff at Willamette Valley Hospice, First Call Home Health and Foothills Medical Supplies for their loving care and compassion.

Betty is survived by her five children, Paul and (Ginny Berube), Judy and (Frank Easterly), Dona and (Dave McIntyre), Marc and (Tami Berube), and Sandy and (Greg Allen), 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mt. Angel, at 11 am Tuesday, March 4. Please join the family in a celebration of Betty's life. A reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Willamette Valley Hospice, 1015 3rd Street NW, Salem, OR 97304 or www.wvh.org.

Arrangements by Unger Funeral Chapel, Silverton.
