Donald C. Brayshaw of Norwell, passed away Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013. He was born in 1929, to the late Elfrieda and James Brayshaw of Weymouth. He was a graduate of Weymouth High School and proudly served in the U.S. Army Corps during the Korean War. After the service he received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the Franklin Institute in Boston. For years Don owned and operated SKG Associates in Norwell. He contributed to his community throughout his life with active participation in the Boy Scouts of America. He was an active member of the Commodores Club of America serving as president in 2004 and was a commodore at Circle Yacht Club. Sailing was a passion and he loved being on the ocean. Donald was blessed in his life with the love and support of his life companions, his late wife, Evelyn Brayshaw of Weymouth, Carol Dunn of Hingham, and the late Katherine Hancock of Norwell. He is survived by his son, Mark Brayshaw; 2 grandsons, Peter and Erin; and 2 great-grandsons, Eloy and Lucius living in North Carolina. He is also survived by stepson, Jeffery Dunn of Hull. He was brother of James Brayshaw living in California and the late Diane Cope of Weymouth. Don's family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to all those who helped care for him during his declining health, your patience and kindness has truly been a blessing. There will be a private memorial for friends and family at his home in Norwell Saturday, Dec. 14, from 2-4.
