Attempting to remove a high voltage live wire from where it endangered the lives of his cows, Charles Van Valkenburg, 29, was instantly killed at Union this morning.
Charles Van Valkenburg is survived by his widow, Mrs. Nora Van Valkenburg of Union; one son, Mac Elvin Van Valkenburg; three daughters, Donna, Lois and Louise Van Valkenburg; his mother, Mrs. Peter Van Valkenburg, all of Union. Four brothers and two sisters also survive. They are: Peter, Jr., Ire and Willis Van Valkenburg of Union and Clifford Van Valkenburg of California; Mrs. Ive Hallitt of Salt Lake and Mrs. R. Herbert of Blackfoot Idaho.
Mr. Valkenburg was one of the first men from his community to enlist for service in the world war. He served three years.
