Ida L. Wade, 100, of Battle Creek, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 at Bronson Battle Creek. Ida was born on February 3, 1914, in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Arthur and Ann (Danatz) Grebe. Ida was raised in South Bend, IN and came to Battle Creek in the early 1940's. She married Mr. Kenneth H. Wade on August 17, 1940 in South Bend, IN. He preceded her in death on March 11, 2000. Together they owned and operated Battle Creek Mattress Company from 1956 until her retirement in 1982. Ida was member of First United Methodist Church. Ida dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed embroidery and playing cards.

Ida is survived by her daughters Roma J. (Darwin) Willbrandt of Colon, MI and Karol K. (Ed) Henegar of Battle Creek and her sons Kenneth H. Wade Jr. of Battle Creek and Earl A . Wade of Battle Creek. She also leaves 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. She also leaves her bother Harold Grebe of South Bend, IN. She was preceded by 2 brothers and 6 sisters.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 11, 2014 in the chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Marian Burch Adult Day Care Center or First United Methodist Church.
Arrangements are by Royal Funeral Home.
