Herbert L. Abramson, died April 13 in Highland Park, Ill at the age of 94 after a full and active life as a loving husband for over 70 years, devoted father, and wonderful friend. He was an avid golfer and tennis player well into his 80's. Above all, he cherished his time with his immediate and extended family. Herb was born on August 19, 1919 in Syracuse, NY, the son of the late I. Harold and Mayme Davis Abramson. He was a dear brother to the late Evelyn Botnick and beloved husband of Ruth Levine Abramson, whom he married on July 4, 1943. Herb earned his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois. He served in the United States Army during WWII as a Captain in the Finance Department. After that, he worked as a Certified Public Accountant for over 40 years, developing a thriving practice in Binghamton. Those lucky enough to know Herb have been inspired by his marriage to Ruth- one of the most loving relationships of all time. Surviving Herb is his wife, Ruth; his three children, Stephen (Sandra), Hal and Judith (Ron Hershow); and his six grandchildren, Mitchell, Tracy, Todd, Elizabeth, Charles, and Rebecca.
