Husband of Florence (Babe) Dascher. Worked for Albany Felt Co. His parents were from Sicily. His trademarks were his New York Yankee baseball cap and his greeting "Hey Goombah!" He was always so much fun.
When I was seven, I was enthralled with 'Schultz & Dooley', the popular talking mugs advertizing Utica Club Beer. The sets of mugs were imported from Germany for $12.99, a respectable sum in those days. My parents 'declined' to buy them for me, but Uncle Mike and Aunt Babe bought them for me and doled them out for my birthday (Nov.24 I received Dooley), and Christmas (I received Schultz). They are my prize possession to this day. A devoted family man and adored by his nieces and nephews. He died in his early forties of lung cancer, at home, attended by his wife. A wonderful man with a great sense of humor.
