Mr. Celestine McMullen, Vet of the Civil War, died July 24 1917 at his Altoona residence. He was born near St Augustine on Dec 12, 1838, oldest son of Matthew and Evelyn (Weakland) McMullen. He was of the last baptized by Prince Gallitzin. He was a member of Co A, 55th Reg't, PA at Hemlock (now Lilly) with the rank of Lieutenant.He married, 5 March 1867, at St Augustine to Margaret Zerbe.He was a letter carrier in Altoona.
