Kenneth D. Conner, 68, of Haskell, Texas passed away Friday, April 11, 2014 at Hendrick Medical Center in Abilene, Texas. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2014 at Willow Cemetery with Rev. J.C. Amburn officiating. Services were arranged under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Homes.
One of 10 children, Kenneth was born May 28, 1945 in Haskell to Grace Gertrude (Moore) and Martin "Virgil" Conner. A graduate of Haskell High School, Kenneth also attended North Texas University. He is retired as an oil and gas investment broker.
Kenneth enjoyed hunting and fishing and had a great spirit for music and playing his guitar. He had a special bond with his family and enjoyed spending time with each of them including his special nieces and nephews. He was a member of Assembly of God Church in Haskell.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Virgil Conner; grandson, Cameron; and 4 brothers, Wendell Conner, Buck Conner, Buddy Conner, and Martin Eddy Conner.
Kenneth is survived by his 2 daughters, Ginger Conner of Ardmore, OK and Collette Conner of Oklahoma City, OK; 4 sisters, Melba Moeller and husband Edward, Sybil Blackwood, Brenda Autrey and husband Ronnie, Jeannie Forehand and husband Chet; 1 brother, Gary Conner and wife Jenny; and 1 grandson.
