Paul was born in Charlestown, the son of Elkanah and Tryall Welch about the year 1713 during which time the record of births was destroyed. He was mentioned in his father's will. He married Betty Houghton of Bolton on August 30, 1740 and settled in Bolton. He and Bettey had 7 children all named after Bettey's siblings.
So far, Paul and Bettey's graves have not been found, nor the exact dates of their deaths. Two of their grandson's gave land for the West Burying ground so there is a good chance that that is where they were buried.
