DR. C. H. GOODRICH DIES OF PNEUMONIA

Dentist Here Nearly 50 years and Former Member of State Board

Dr. Charles H. Goodrich, 1775 Lincoln Avenue, a dentist in St. Paul for nearly 50 years and a member of one of the city's oldest families died Wednesday at his home. He was 72 years old.
Death was caused by pneumonia. He had been ill less than a week and up to time of his illness continued actively at his work.
For many years Dr. Goodrich was a member of the State Board of Dental Examiners and at intervals had contributed articles to magazines. He also achieved some note with his oil paintings.
Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, he was but one year old when brought to St. Paul by his father, Augustus Goodrich, who later was co-founder with General H. H. Sibley of the St. Paul Gas Company.
He attended the old Jefferson School in St. Paul and was graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Dental Surgery in 1880. He returned to St. Paul to practice and maintained his office since then.
In addition to his practice, Dr. Goodrich was active in Masonic circles. He was a Knight Templar, a Shriner and a member of the Masonic Order. Painting was his hobby and although he engaged it only for pleasure, he sold several pictures and exhibited some of his work.
Dr. Goodrich was a member of the family after whom Goodrich Avenue was named. Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Bessie Goodrich and one brother, Lawrence of Spokane. Funeral services probably will be held at St. Clement's Episcopal Church of which Dr. Goodrich was a member.
