James was the 4th child of the 8 children born to Elisha and Rachel (Cook) Kibbe. James was born in Salem, Ma. December 27, 1675. James and his family moved to Enfield, Connecticut in 1680/2. He was married to Hannah Kelsey of Hartford Connecticut January 20, 1703. James's date of death & burial place are unknown possibly in North Cemetery, in Somers Ct. near his children.

ELISHA KIBBE:
Elisha was the second son, and third child of 14 born to Edward and Mary (Partridge) Kibbe. He was born November 20, 1644 in Boston Ma. He was baptized in Boston on September 30, 1645 when he was about 10 months old. He became a joiner by trade. When he was 19 years old, he moved to Salem, Ma. It was there that he met, and married Rachel Cooke on October 12, 1667, at the age of about 23. This is where they would begin their family. Elisha at age 36-38, and Rachel, relocated their family, sometime between 1680/2, to Enfield Ct., where they were among the earliest settlers. Elisha became very active in town affairs, holding various public offices including, Selectman and Constable. He died April 3, 1735, at the age of 90, in Enfield, Ct.

RACHEL BIRDSALL (COOKE) KIBBE:
Rachel was born the 4th, of the 10 children of Henry and Judith (Birdsall) Cooke. She was born in 1645 in Salem Ma. Her twin sister, Elizabeth did not survive the birth. Her mother Judith also had a set of triplets born in 1650, Mary, Martha and Henry. Mary died at age 17, Martha at age 3, and Henry at age 54. In 1661, when Rachel was 16, her father Henry died. Rachel married Elisha when she was about 22 years of age. All but her last 2 children were born while living in Salem. Their daughter Mary was only a year old when she died in 1679. In 1680/2, shortly after the death of her mother, Rachel & family moved to Enfield Ct. Rachel was about 35-37 years of age at the time. This is where she would live out her final years. Their son Elisha died in 1688, at age 15. A little over four years later, she would hear of the Salem Witch Trials of 1692, where some of her former friends and neighbors were still residing. On September 10, 1740, Rachel died, at the age of 95. It is unknown where Elisha & Rachel are buried. It could have been in Boston, Salem, or Enfield.
