Brent Riley Nelson, 46, of Kansas City, Kansas, died on April 8, 2014. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. April 16, 2014 at Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home. A private family graveside will be held at a later date in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Trinity Nursing and Rehab, 9700 W. 62nd St., Merriam, KS 66203. Brent was born on April 28, 1967, in Kansas City, Kansas, to James and Karen (Woods) Nelson. He graduated from Washington High School in 1985. He attended Johnson County Community College and studied HVAC Technology. Following his certification for HVAC, he also received certification as an EPA technician in 2003. He worked at Baader-Johnson Food Equipment, Inc. in the manufacturing plant and was later promoted to installing and repairing chicken processing machines worldwide from 1988-1995. From 1995-2003 he worked for Dietrich Metal Framing in Lenexa, Kansas, in the manufacturing metal framing department. After 2003, he spent his time caring for his father in the home. In his spare time, Brent loved working on computers, cars, and building different projects. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Loren Riley Nelson, Marjorie Lee (Hall) Nelson, Paul Wilbur Woods and Anna Mae (Harper) Woods. He is survived by his father, mother, step-father, sister and brother-in-law, niece, nephew, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
