He was 78 and a resident and native of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, and from noon until religious services in the chapel at 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Michael Moroney. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by wife of 54 years, Juanita King Jumel, Baton Rouge; two sons, J.A. "Sonny" Jumel Jr., Prairieville, and James Donald "Donny" Jumel, Bossier City; two sisters, Mildred Jumel White, Shreveport, and Meryl Jumel Eckert, Baton Rouge; a brother, Kenneth Jumel, Baton Rouge; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, James Major Jumel and Milda Babin Jumel; a brother, James M. Jumel; and two sisters, Lena Jumel Persac and Verdith Jumel Parker. He was a member ofOur Lady of Mercy Catholic Church and Usher Society. Memorial donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church.
