Melvin Schueneman was killed in an aircraft crash over England Jan. 27, his wife, Mrs. Vallery Schueneman was notified Saturday night. He was a ground mechanics crew chief and had received a Presidential citation and Bronze star. Sergeant Schueneman was born in St. Clair, Sept. 14, 1919, son of the late Charles and Mary Schueneman. His parents died within three months when he was a year old. He lived with his grandmother, Mrs. Schueneman, Meldrum Road until he was 16, when he went to live with his aunt Mrs. Louise Burman, Meldrum Road. He entered the service in May 1942, and went overseas in Nov. 1943. He served in England from that time until his death. He was married Dec. 28, 1940, to Miss Vallery Sharrow who lives with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Sharrow, Marine City.
