OBITUARY - Charlotte C. Young
Charlotte Cowgill Young, 92, of Bella Vista Dr., Ithaca, died Thursday July 26, 2018 at the Cayuga Medical Center. Charlotte was born in Susquehanna, PA and lived in Ithaca most of her adult life. Charlotte is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Louise Cowgill and brothers, Ralph Jr., Jack and Randolph. She is survived by her children, son Andy of Newfield, New York; daughter Deb Porter (Tom) of Malibu, California and son Don of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service took place August 1, 2018 at Longview an Ithacare Community where Charlotte resided since 2011. Information provided by Bangs Funeral Home. Her marriage to Donald C. Young, an Ithaca High School guidance counselor, resulted in divorce.

Miss Charlotte B. Cowgill and Donald C. Young exchanged nuptial vows at 3 pm yesterday in the Methodist Church in Susquehanna, PA, with the Rev. Horace E. Weavers officiating. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph F. Cowgill of Susquehanna. Before her marriage she was secretary to the personnel manager at Ansco in Binghamton. Mr. Young, a graduate of Cornell University and a teacher in the Ithaca High School, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Coburn I. Young of Maine, NY.
For her wedding, the former Miss Cowgill wore a gown of white satin with yoke and bertha of Chantilly lace. Her headdress was a bonnet of tulle with fingertip veil, and she carried white roses.
Mrs. John W. Cowgill of John W. Cowgill of Johnson City, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor in a pink taffeta and net gown with matching headband. Miss Joan Baumann of Childs, PA, and Mrs. John M. Milunich of Luzerne, PA, cousins of the bride, were bridesmaids in similar gowns. Flower girls were Barbara and Susan Cowgill of Susquehanna, nieces of the bride. Herbert Latshaw of Garden City was best man. The ushers were Gale Tymeson of Maine and James Spencer of Ithaca.
