Mrs. Allen Dead
Mrs. Mariam Allen, mother of Mayor Allen of this city, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bishop, last night, August 22nd, at 9 o'clock. Mrs. Allen has been afflicted for some time but growing worse a few days ago the end came quickly. Her age was 73 years and five months. The mayor and the other members of the bereaved family will have the sympathy of the entire vicinity in this affliction. The funeral will take place from the residence of Dr. Allen tomorrow, Friday, at 2 o'clock p.m. The interment will be in Oakland cemetery.
