Diana Ludwig, 59, of Forreston passed away December 14th, 2010 at Freeport Rehab following a courageous five year battle with cancer. Her faith, courage, positive attitude and sense of humor inspired all who knew her. Diana was born on November 9, 1951 in Freeport to Glenn and Beverly (Beede) VanRaden. She graduated from Forreston High School class of '69' and Northern Illinois University with a degree in Business. On December 14, 1974, Diana was united in marriage to Gary Ludwig at the Forreston Reformed Church. Diana and Gary were blessed with one son, Wesley C. (Amanda), and on September 17, 2007 welcomed a beautiful granddaughter, Elizabeth Joy. Diana was employed in the banking profession for over 25 years. At the time of her retirement in September 2007, Diana was Loan Operations Officer at the Forreston State Bank. Diana's passion was music! She was an accomplished pianist and shared her love of music playing keyboard in the Crossroads Church praise team, Forreston Reformed Church choirs, High School Band Contest and for many weddings, funerals and community events. Diana also enjoyed traveling, crafting and decorating her home for the changing seasons. Diana is survived by her husband Gary, son Wes (Amanda) Ludwig, granddaughter Elizabeth Joy, father Glenn VanRaden, brother Gerald (Jennifer) VanRaden as well as many nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Beverly VanRaden, sister-in-law Beverly Ralston, father-in-law Don Ludwig, and her grandparents. The funeral will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 18th, 2010 at Crossroads Church, Polo (205 N Jefferson Ave. Polo, IL) with burial at West Grove Cemetery. A Musical Video Visitation highlighted by selections from Crossroads 2006 Christmas Cantata ( Diana Ludwig played piano accompaniment ) will be held at the church from 9:30 am until the time of the service. A memorial fund will be established in Diana's memory for the Forrestville Valley Music Department and Crossroads Community Church in Polo, IL
