Roland P. Leibenguth, 90, of Hanover Twp., passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012, in Moravian Village Health Care Center. He was the beloved husband of the late Alvena (Swartz) Leibenguth who passed away in 2002.

Born in Palmerton, he was a son of the late LaRue, Sr. and Elerta (Stehler) Leibenguth. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later worked as an industrial engineer for Western Electric for 38 years before retiring in 1985. He was an active member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church, Hanover Twp. where he had served on Church Council, was an usher, reader, and active in the activities of the church. He was a member of Saucon Lodge of F&AM #469, Coopersburg, High Twelve and Lehigh Consistory Valley of Allentown and also a member of the Engineers Club of the Lehigh Valley.

Survivors: Although there are no immediate survivors, Roland had many nieces and nephews including Joyce Gildner of Palmerton, as well as friends in the community and his church. In addition to his late wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, LaRue Jr.; Ernest and Clarence Leibenguth and sisters, Mildred Dieter and Lois Jaman.

Services: 11:00 AM on Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden Street, Bethlehem, where friends may call from 10:00 AM until time of service. Entombment will be in Cedar Hill Memorial Park.
