Raymond George Snow was born on September 2, 1927 in Le Sueur, MN to Howard and Myrtle (Little) Snow. He received his education at Le Sueur High School, but completed his GED in Japan while he served overseas in the Army. He came home from the Army in 1949 and returned to Le Sueur, where he helped farm with his brothers. Ray farmed in Lakefield, MN until returning to Le Sueur in 1957, when his mother passed away and he began caring for his father. At this time he began working as a Diesel Operator for the Le Sueur municipal power plant. He was united in marriage to Arlene Nystrom at the Peace Lutheran Church in Fridley, MN on December 14, 1974. Together, they moved to Minneapolis, where he worked as drill press operator, first in Minneapolis and later in St. Paul. Ray also picked up a retirement job, working part time at the Southdale Mall. During this time, Ray took a small engine machine correspondence course and developed a successful lawn mower repair business from his garage. He continued to work at his Minneapolis home as a hobby on small engines until the day they moved to Litchfield in 2005. He was a member of the Richfield Lutheran Church, the V.F.W. and a volunteer for meals on wheels. He loved to take pictures and videos, and enjoyed fishing, playing cards, camping and spending time with his family. Raymond is survived by his children, Gary Hawes (and Christine Koelln) of Litchfield, MN, Duane Hawes of Sauk Center, MN and Kathy (and Tom) Frenn of St. Cloud, MN; grandchildren, Jared Hawes (and Hope Rieck), Ryan (and Sara) Hawes, Jason (and Debra) Hawes, Judd (and Janice) Hawes, Mitchell Hawes, Rachel Robinson (and LaMar), Holly Haley (and Monte Burger), Joseph (and Stephanie) Weizel and Casey (and Christina) Weizel; great grandchildren, Derak, Jacob, Lucas, Danielle, Tyler, Brandon, Brianna, Amanda, Jack, Jackson and Dawson; great great grandchildren, Braxton and Ashton; brother Leon Snow of Le Sueur, MN; sister Helen Heath of Palatka, FL; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife Arlene; parents Howard and Myrtle; brothers Harold and William, and sister Ruth Tellijohn.
