Funeral service for Mr. Dink Arvis Crew, 93, of Rockford, will be Monday, April 14, 2014 at 1:00 pm at the Rockford Baptist Church. Dr. Jeff Fuller will officiate. Mr. Crew will lie in state for 1 hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Rockford City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 13, 2014 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Radney Funeral Home.

Mr. Crew passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at East Alabama Medical Center. He was born on February 20, 1921 in Richville, Alabama to Lonnie Dink Crew and Minnie Penton Crew.

He was a member of Rockford Baptist Church. Mr. Crew had a love for people and his family. He owned and operated Crew's Drugs in Rockford for 40 years where he employed many young people and cared for the needs of the community. Mr. Crew was a veteran of the United States Army and served in WWII. He graduated in 1941 from Auburn University with a degree in Pharmacy. Mr. Crew had been a member of the Masonic Lodge in Rockford.

He is survived by his daughters, Pam Doyle of Alexander City and Ann Hartwell of Daphne; son, Bill Crew (Sharon), of Auburn; grandchildren, Matthew Crew, Tonya Lee (Mark), Kim Moncrief (Mark), Kelli Hilyer (Jason), Kristi Moncrief (Bradley), Alan Ishee, Karen Parsons (Kip), Scott Hartwell (Ann) and Bailey Hartwell; great-grandchildren, Jesse Weeks, Justin Weeks, Zada Lee, Meritt Lee, Keira Hilyer, Doss Moncrief, Van Moncrief, Nate Hartwell, Lucy Hartwell and Jack Parsons.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Justice Crew; his parents and brothers, Gerald Crew, Adolph Crew and Morton Crew.
