Obituary for Mrs. Polly Abel
Mrs. Lella Pauline Fonville Able or "Miss Polly", as she was affectionately known, awoke in her heavenly home on April 10, 2014 at the age of 84. She was born on August 5, 1929 in Carol County Ms.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 12th from 5-8 PM and Sunday, April 13th from 1 PM until the 2 PM Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Glenwood Memorial Park in Richland.
Miss Polly is preceded in death by her parents, E. H. and Hallie K. Fonville; two husbands, John C. Byrd Sr. and Larry Abel; one sister, Bobbye Massey and two brothers, Cecil Fonville and Joe Fonville.
She is survived by three children, Paula Byrd Jackson (Larry) of Sevierville, TN, John C. Byrd Jr. (Debbie) of Richland, MS, and Sharon Byrd Holmes (Jimmy) of Richland, MS; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; one sister, Mary Suzie Ham of Jayess MS; four brothers, Earl Fonville of Gray, LA, Jamo Fonville of Salem, Oregon, Tommy Fonville and Danny Fonville both of Richland Ms; and special friend John Phillips.
She was a beautiful, classy lady who loved spending time with family and friends. She was a member of Christway Church in Flowood, Ms. She was a long-time resident of Richland, Ms. Her favorite past-time was shopping for bargains. As her grandmother would say, she always looked like she'd just stepped out of a band box.
