He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Nancy (LoBello) Perkins, a son and daughter in law, Stephen and Elaine Perkins and a daughter and son in law, Traceen and Thomas Aukett. He leaves behind to cherish his memories, his grandchildren and their spouses, Jason and Martha Perkins, Leah Perkins, Brian and Jill Perkins, Julie Hewson, Gloria Doehring, Brittany and Ron Hickman, Cameron Aukett and Casey Aukett. He also leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren, Cody Horton, Melissa Horton, Aiden Perkins, Kane McKennan, Cole Perlman, Sidney Perkins, Gianna Mastronarvi and Brooke Hickman, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Also special to the family are sister-in-laws, Inge Perkins, Toni Perkins, Rose McEldrew, Toni Sergi, Fran and Chuck Donlon, Vivian and Ralph Tallman, and extended family, Kris McNamara and David Cardone.
He was predeceased by his son, Dennis Perkins, his parents, Palmer and Leah Perkins, sisters Nina Vergason and Gladys Crawford and brothers Bud (Maurice), Carl, Paul, Stanley and Kenny Perkins.
He served in the U.S. Army during WWII from 1944 to 1947, in the 90th Division, 357th Infantry Regiment. He worked for the EJ Tannery for 22 years, and IBM for 22 years. He retired to "Pa's Place" on Cayuga Lake, moving to Florida in 2005.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial celebration of his life will be held on June 21, 2014 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, with burial at Calvary Cemetery. A portion of his ashes will be scattered on Cayuga Lake, near Hibiscus Harbor, the home of his heart, where he lived for many years, fishing to his heart's content.
For all who knew and loved him, he was a Perkins true and true. An honest and loyal man to friends and family, always in your corner with love and support. He loved nothing more than when surrounded by his family. He was a good, good man and will be missed by all who knew him.
