Lemuel Burton Redd passed away on July 9, 2011 surrounded by family.

Lem was born April 26, 1945 in Moab, UT, the third child born to Kermit and Helen Redd.

He was raised in Paradox, CO, where he graduated from Nucla High School in 1963. He served two years in the Florida Mission of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1969.

Lem married Lila Rae Crapo on December 15, 1967 in the Manti LDS Temple. After graduating from college, they lived in Idaho for several years where their children were born.

They returned to Paradox in 1975 and raised three children – Brett (married to Lisa Clift), Kathryn (married to Rob Wilcox), and Kevin (married to Brenda Monney).

Lem worked in ranching, many years in uranium exploration, and the last 16 years at Recapture Metals in Blanding, UT.

Lem was devoted to his family and taught them to work hard and play hard. He loved to take his children and grandchildren on adventures.

He was an accomplished outdoorsman and photographer and helped his family enjoy the beauty of the outdoors. His favorite memories came from time spent with family in nature.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings, with a strong testimony of the gospel and his Savior Jesus Christ.

He loved working with the youth and served as Scoutmaster and on the High Council working with the Young Single Adult and Institute programs. He served as Branch President in Paradox and spent the last years of his life serving as Stake President in the Blanding Utah Stake.

Lem is survived by his wife Lila; mother Helen; brothers John and Kenneth; sisters Suzanne, Virginia, and Elizabeth; children Brett, Kathryn, and Kevin; and grandchildren Ashlynn, Mikayla, Baylea, McKael, Taylor, Ethan, and Travis.
