Born November 1890 in Greenwood County, South Carolina to John Brunson, Sr. and Caroline (Mance) Brunson. He was the oldest of 10 children. He lived in Hibler, SC in the 1910s. Served in WWI from 1918-1919. Moved to Detroit, MI about 1920. Married Clara Belle Grey, 16, on June 5, 1920 in South Carolina. He was a Baptist Deacon, and was very active in the church the family attended. He was also a member of the American Legion, where he was chaplain for the Charles Young Post 77 on E. Forest in Detroit. He was also a Scottish Rite Mason, based out of the St. John Grand Lodge on Oakland in Detroit. He Worked for Ford Motor Company as a Machinist/Machine operator at the Rouge Factory from the 1920s to the time of his passing. Died of Lobar Pneumonia on June 1, 1954 at Veterans Hospital, Allen Park, MI, buried at Elmwood cemetery on June 5, 1954. Funeral/burial arrangements entrusted to Burns Funeral Home (the funeral home director, John Burns, attended church with the Brunson family)
