Victor Eugene Thompson, 59, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 in Poplar Bluff, MO. Victor was born into the baptist faith on June 27, 1954 in Poplar Bluff, MO to Enoch and Pauline Thompson of Piedmont, MO.

On December 16, 1982 Victor was united in marriage to Mary Jean Westmoreland

Victor graduated from Clearwater High School and attended the College of the Ozarks. He made Piedmont his home, other than the 8 years when he lived in Nocona, TX. He had worked at Brown Shoe Company, Falcon Communications and also for the last 24 years he had worked at Windstream Communications as the Central Office Technician.

Victor was a member of the Nocona, TX Lions Club from 1991-1997, he served on the City Counsel for Piedmont, MO as an Alderman for 4 years. Victor had many hobbies which included fishing, competing in bass tournaments with his nephew Cory Thompson, leisure time with his family, hunting, and especially deer camp with his family and friends. He loved to spend time with his family BBQing, playing dominos and cards, going on family outings, watching movies and just relaxing with his children and grandchildren.

Surviving Victor is his wife Mary Jean; his parents; Enoch and Pauline Thompson, two sons; Scott Mell of St. Louis, MO, and Ben Thompson and his wife Jennifer of Ellington, MO, three daughters; Tina Bell of St. Louis, MO, Laura Thompson Mowery of Bowie, TX, and Andrea Thompson Burns and her husband Ashley of Jackson, MO, six grandchildren; Shane Chandler, Zoe Bell, Cyrus Burns, Isaac Thompson, Jaxon Burns and Madelyn Thompson; one sister; Yvonne Wheelehon and her husband Harry of Piedmont, MO, one brother; Rick Thompson and his wife Pam of Patterson, MO, and four nephews and nieces, Cory Thompson, Erica Huitt, Courtney Thompson and Hailey Thompson.

Victor was welcomed into heaven with opened arms by his grandson, Kyle Wayne Mowery and Daughter-in-law Kimberly Kaiser Mell.

Visitation was held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. at Ruegg Funeral Home in Piedmont. Services were held Sunday April 13, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. also at the chapel with burial at Masonic Cemetery Pastor Jack Ruble ministered to the family and Cory Thompson, Jeff Clark, Justin Clark, Jeremiah L'Heureux, Matt L'Heureux, Chip Martin, David Goodall, and Brian Raddatz served as pallbearers. Terry Cate, Josh Cate, and fellow Windstream Co-Workers served as honorary pallbearers. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to the American Heart Association.
