Charlotte E. Lang, 103, North Vernon, died at 7:50 a.m. on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at the Jennings Health Center. She was born on June 19, 1910 in Dwight, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Wesley and Elsie Jane (Seabert) Brown.

She was raised in Dwight, Illinois and graduated from Dwight High School in 1928. She moved to Florida in 1974, to Columbus in 2003 and had resided in North Vernon since 2005. She was a member of the First Methodist Church at Bradenton, Florida and volunteered at the Manasota Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, sewing and reading.

She married Webster C. Lang in Joliet, Illinois on October 10, 1936 and he preceded her in death on May 13, 1991. She is survived by her daughter, Charlene (Jim) Ponsler, North Vernon; grandchildren, Karla (Tom) Gasper and Brian (Amy) Ponsler, both of North Vernon and Mike (Rhonda) Ponsler, Butlerville; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Ruth Blaine, Vera Ovitt and Florence Brown; her brothers, Ralph Brown, Wendall Brown, and Wesley Brown.

Funeral services 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Bass & Gasper Funeral Home, Westport with Rev. Connie Barr officiating. Entombment will be at Manasota Memorial Park, Bradenton, Florida.
