I have established this memorial in order to link the many descendants of Robert West of Horry county. The following has been gleaned from many accumulated records in the South Carolina Historical Archives and research by many genealogy enthusiasts.
TIMELINE: Document 17 Feb 1784- to Mr Robert West for seven pounds thirteen shillins and four pence Sterling for 123 days Militia duty done in General Marions Brigade in 1782 (Stub Entries to Indents No. 209 Book F)
TIMELINE: Document 13 th Sep 1785-Mary West-Claim for recompense for goods supplied in 1782 to Colonel Lee, Colonel Purvis, Colonel Casey for 9 pounds 8 shilling Sterling
TIMELINE: Document-30th Dec 1790-Request for whatever indents (payment for service) in his account to be delivered to W. R. Davis, by Abraham Smith, Comm. Treasurer, signed by Robert West . Amount paid on 31 Jan 1791-7 pounds 13 shillings 4 pence
TIMELINE: Document-10 Aug 1793 Survey of 319 acres on 20th of January 1784 in the District of Georgetown, certified 10th of August 1793 by F. Bernard
TIMELINE: Document-Article in the Independent Republic Quarterly Vol 19 Fall 1985- Petition to Establish Horry District Nov 26 1801 listed the names Abraham West and Robert West

Senate and members of the House of Representatives the....Mary West humbly saith that Robert West who was put of the list in 1826 departed this life 29 December 1827....my part of the allowance or provision made for him leaving your petitioner...a widow with no means of support except fore acres of very find land....and her own labour and assistance of tow sons who have no other means but the support of themselves your petitioner is now past labour as she is very infirm in...days being now sixty two years old your petitioner....for your Honourable body to take her care into consideration and allow her to...the amount...her departed husband...to the time of his death and allow petitioner to be placed on the pension list at his death and your list...with her sisters of the Revolution...as in duty bound will ever....Personnally appeared before me, Wm Bryan, Mary West who being duly sworn sayeth that the above petition is just and true sworn to be before me this 29 of December 1827
There are two Wills of Robert, one dated 1816 leaving land and goods to son Cornelious West (who migrated to Florida) and another dated Dec 26 1826 with mention of all children, but leaving his plantation to wife Mary and dividing land between Sion, Dicy and Arthur. Robert (Jr) was already living on his portion.
Robert's children are: Abraham (1780-1810), Cornelious (1790-1865), Robert (1792-1875), Kititsa (Vaught) 1794-1840-1850), Elizabeth (Smith) 1795-1830-1840), Mary (McClamma)(1800-1841), Dicy (1804-?), Joseph Sion (1805-1862-1870), Arthur (1806-1874)
