Larry D. Baker, 50, of Hayti, died Nov. 21, 1988 at Kennett. Born Oct. 31, 1938 in Hayti, he was administrator of the Kennett Health Care Center and the former administrator of Pemiscot Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and Kennett Lions Club and was district activities chairman for Seminole Boy Scout District. He received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Arkansas State College and a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan. He served as a U.S. Army paratrooper from 1956-60.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Dorothy Baker of Hayti; Two sons, Kevin and Brian Baker, both of Hayti; One sister Mrs. Sandra Melton of Hayti; And three aunts, Mrs. Pearl Holt, Bessie Hedge and Mrs. Wanda Andrews, all of Hayti.
Services were Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Hayti, the Rev. Don Edwards and the Rev. Miles Zeigler officiating, with burial in Woodlawn Cemetery, John W. German Funeral Home of Hayti in charge.
Pallbearers were Mike Alsup, Jerry Taylor, Conway Hall, Mike Holt, A.G. Franks Jr., Terry McCullouch, Jim Reynolds and Lester Bailey.
