Mr. Steve George Jackson, age 63, of Honaker, Virginia, passed away Tuesday (April 8, 2014) at James H. Quillen VA Medical Center in Mountain Home, Tennessee. Born July 5, 1950 in Russell County, Virginia, he was a son of the late Lois Juanita Jackson. A lifelong resident of the area, he had formerly been employed as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. He was a United States veteran, having served in the Air Force. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by one sister, Rebecca Reynolds Wallace.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Dye of the home; two step-daughters, Jennifer Nuckles and husband, Bradley of Hansonville, Virginia and Freda Yates and husband, Kirby of Honaker; seven step-grandchildren, Lexi Nuckles, Brandon Nuckles, Isaac Nuckles, Carly Yates, Josie Yates, Christy Yates, and Jacob Yates; one aunt, Jo Marion Sword; one uncle, Harry Jackson and wife, Ruth also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 7:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Rev. Jeff Kinder and Rev. Virgil Musick officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Friday in the Ketron Memorial Gardens at Lebanon, Virginia. Those wishing to at the service are asked to assemble at the cemetery.
Military honors will be conducted by VFW Post #9864 of Lebanon, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Brad Nuckles, Kirby Yates, Brandon Nuckles, Richard Jackson, and Steve Lovings.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Thursday.
