He was born on Nov. 2, 1921 in Rossville, the son of Jesse and Helen (Adams) Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mildred McDowell. He married Lois Hunley on June 12, 1941 in Clayton, Missouri. She survives.
He is also survived by a son, Scott Harris; daughter, Susan Hunt; two grandchildren; sister, Janet Michaels and several nieces and nephews.
He was employed at the John Deere (Vermilion Iron Works) in Hoopeston for 40 years. He held several positions while at John Deere; he was the production control supervisor in the Time and Motion Department and treasurer of John Deere Credit Union.
