Lawton - RUBY EUNICE ETHERIDGE, 83, of Lawton, died Tuesday, March 10, 1998, in McMahan Tomlinson Nursing Center in Lawton.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Duncan with Bishop Johnny Welch officiating, assisted by Pastor Don Barnes of Lawton. Burial will be in Duncan Cemetery under the direction of Don Grantham Funeral Home.
Mrs. Etheridge was born Oct. 4, 1914, in Aberdeen, Miss., to William Thomas and Amie (Wheeler) Roebuck. On Nov. 7, 1932, she married Clifford Etheridge in Waurika. From 1940-95 she lived in Duncan, and from 1995-98 she lived in Lawton.
She was a homemaker, former dietary worker at Duncan Regional Hospital, and owner and operator of a laundry located at 13th and Ash Street in Duncan for eight years. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Survivors include four children and their spouses, Mary Lois and Charles White of Big Sandy, Texas, and Clifford Doyle and Kathy Etheridge, Lynn and Judy Etheridge and Wanda Kay and Ken Taylor, all of Lawton; a brother, Arville Roebuck of Waurika; two sisters, Lenore Sears of Duncan and Thelma Rogers of Kansas; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband on Oct. 16, 1989; her parents; a daughter, Madelyn Carol Ethidge on March 23, 1941; and a great-grandson, Dylan Lewis.
Bearers will be DeLayne Etheridge, Rodney White, Rick White, Bobby Taylor, Breck Lewis and Emmitt Tayloe.
