LAST CUMBERLAND CHURCH MEMBER DIES IN LINCOLN

The death of Samuel J. Smith, 77, Lincoln for 50 years employed at Union cemetery and the last living member of the board of the old Lincoln Hill Cumberland Presbyterian church, died at 12:15 a.m. yesterday in Deaconess hospital.

He was born Nov. 28, 1867, in Logan county. His marriage to Miss Anna Ritchhart took place Jan. 30, 1908 in Lincoln and she survives with a son, Herbert B. Smith. Three brothers and a sister also survive: Charles, Louis and Frank Smith and Mrs. Allie M. Sheley, all of Lincoln. There are two grandchildren, Bill and Patsy Smith of Lincoln.

The body will be taken from the Wright funeral home to the Herbert Smith residence today and will be returned to the funeral home tomorrow morning.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at the funeral home with Rev. E. C. Hargrove, pastor of First Presbyterian church, officiating. Burial will be in Union cemetery.
