Norma Lee Barnes Schwartzkopf, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 7, 2014 in Stephenville. She was 88 years of age.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Wednesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Norma was born to the late Virgil Lee and Lois Marie McKinney Barnes on November 12, 1925 in Rush Center, Kansas. She married the late Dale Edward Schwartzkopf on March 2, 1946, and they soon moved to Austin, Texas. In 1948, she and Dale moved to the Houston area where they raised four children. In 1986, the couple retired in Stephenville.

Norma was passionate in her faith, her family, and her University of Texas Longhorns. She loved to travel, and was a beautiful wife and mother who appreciated the beauty in this world. In Stephenville, Norma was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and was active in the UMW Circles, Maggie Poteet and Bertha Cox. She was also a member of the Kum Dubl Sunday School class and the Harris Methodist Ladies Auxillary.

Norma is survived by her daughter, Mary Jean Terrill and husband John of Stephenville; son, Lee Schwartzkopf and wife Lise of Stephenville; daughter, Lois Beck of Cibolo; grandchildren, Karrie George and husband Billy of Sachse, TX, Kris Terrill and wife Whitney of Humble, TX, Kelly Dale Terrill of Baltimore, Maryland, Jason Schwartzkopf, Blake Schwartzkopf, both of Stephenville, TX, and Jackson Beck and wife Kate of Cibolo, TX; great grandchildren, Emma and Tyler George, Nick Terrill, Jacob, Liam, and Rowan Beck; and several nieces and nephews.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale; and sons, Cary Dean Schwartzkopf and Stephen Dale Schwartzkopf; brothers, Kenneth and Guy Barnes; sister, Betty Ping; and son-in-law, Fred Beck.

Norma will "forever be in our hearts".

The Schwartzkopf family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of donations to the First United Methodist Church of Stephenville
