Laura M. Hardy, 94, of Midland, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at her home. The daughter of the late Emory and Jeanette (Spurbeck) Sova was born July 11, 1921 in Midland, where she was raised and educated. Laura married Willard Hardy Sr. on July 23, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1985.
For 27 years Laura worked as a bus driver for Midland Public Schools, retiring in 1980. She had been a regular customer at Big Boy for over 30 years.
Mrs. Hardy is survived by her sons, Willard (Jeri) Hardy of Midland, Gary (Carol) Hardy of Midland; daughters, Sandra (Don) Brancheau of Commerce Township, Marjorie (Doyle) Newman of Oklahoma and Loretta Hardy of Midland; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughters Annetta West, Connie Arndt and Lorrine Alexander.
For the past several years Laura has been lovingly cared for by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Carol, granddaughter, Sandy and great- granddaughter, Jordan.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hardy will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, April 8, 2016, from the Wilson MILLER Funeral Home. Interment will be in Midland Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Thursday, from noon to 3 p.m., and from 4-8 p.m., and on Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
