Robert Lane Compton, 81, passed away on April 6, 2014. Bud, as his friends knew him, grew up in Rusk County. He worked in the family business of dairy farming. Bud served in the military as an ammunition sergeant during the Korean War. He dreamed of a good life in the big city. He did achieve his dreams with his family and his own business of General Propane.
He also dreamed of having a wonderful wife. He succeeded with that as well. His beautiful wife is Sarah Pendergrass Compton. Daughters, Suz Michelle, Alicia Archuleta and Dianna Marie Compton. He had three beautiful grandchildren, Rob, Corrina and Marissa. He and Sarah also have a wonderful extended family here in Texas.
Robert was a successful, Christian man achieving the good life he set out to achieve. His new home in heaven will be a peaceful one.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. April 10, 2014, at Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home, Henderson.
Funeral services will be at Rusk County Memorial Gardens, April 11, 2014, at 2 p.m.
