Kate was born in Virginia City, Nevada and lived in that state for most of her life. She married Joseph W. Kinnikin and had five children before moving to Reno after his death in 1903. She later married Daniel Kenefick, who also preceded her in death.
She was preceded in death by three children: Marvin, William and Luvene Kinnikin, and a brother: William Fogarty.
She was survived by two daughters, both of Los Angeles: Mrs. Mildred Ann Atkinson (1895-1983) and Mrs. Alma Claire Young (1902-1995), as well as five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
