Dennis E. Hess, 64 of Parkersburg died January 29, 2004 at the Camden Clark Memorial Hospital. He was born in Ansted, WV. The son of the late Herbert F. and Nellie Legg Hess.
He had retired from G.E. Plastics after 32 years of service and enjoyed Hunting, Fishing and being Outdoors. He was a member of the Edgelawn United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia K. Taylor-Hess of Parkersburg. His children, Nanette "Nan" Cross and her husband Roger of Cutler, OH. Leah Hess of Miami, FL. Cindy Dennis of Parkersburg, Carole Caplinger and her husband Richard of Parkersburg and Clara Garrett and her husband Paul of Parkersburg. His sisters, Tena Davey of Pensicola, FL. Rose Burns of Nashville, TN. And Anne Jordan of Charleston, WV. His Brother, Robert Hess of Charleston, WV. His Grandchildren, Samantha Lynn Cross, Bryan E. Cross, Trista and Stefanie Caplinger, Anthony and Andrew Garrett and Jessica Towner. He was preceded in death by his 1st. Wife, Nancy Mae Christian Hess, His 2nd Wife Dessa Marie Davis Runion Hess and one Brother, Herbert "Bud" Hess.
Funeral services will be Sunday at 1:00 PM at the Leavitt Funeral Home in Parkersburg with Pastor Danny McVey officiating. Interment will be in the Restlawn Memory Gardens at Ansted, WV. With a graveside committal service at 4:30 PM Sunday. Visitation will be Saturday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. At the funeral home.
