Donald L. "Bud" Wright, 82, of Stockport died at 5:43 pm, Sunday April 6, 2014 at University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City.

He was born June 21, 1931 near Stockport to Eldon and Blanch Hummell Wright. In childhood and youth he lived in Springville and Viola, IA and graduated from Viola High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Germany during the Korean War and was a farmer and welder. He had farmed near Stockport from 1960 until retiring to town in 1996. Foreign languages were his hobby.

Surviving are a sister, Darlene Casagranda of Prescott Valley, AZ and two half sisters, Judy Windstead of Springville and Doris Meyer of Marion.

A half-sister, Betty Pringle preceded him in death in childhood.

Service will be at 11 am Thursday April 10, 2014 at Pedrick Funeral Home, Keosauqua with Larry Smith officiating, family will be present 10-11 am prior to the service. Burial with military honors by Elvin E. Cecil Post NO. 147 American Legion, Stockport will be in Spencer Cemetery, rural Stockport. Gifts to a memorial to be designated later by the family may be left at the funeral home.
