Rebecca Ashworth Stanley, age 73, a native and resident of Starks, Louisiana, passed from this life on April 6, 2014 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Beaumont, Texas. She was born on January 11, 1941 to G. O. Ashworth, Sr. And Thelma Ashworth. She was Pentecostal by faith and a member of The First Pentecostal Church, Starks, Louisiana. She worked in the Sunday School Department at The First Pentecostal Church of Starks for 40 years. She was known for her special sugar cookies amongst the children. She worked in Washington D.C. right out of high school in the fingerprint department for two to three years. She was a school crossing guard at Vinton Middle School for a number of years. Rebecca was a homemaker; enjoyed her flower and vegetable gardens, sewing, cooking and crafts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, G.O. Ashworth and Thelma Ashworth, one sister, Mildred Ashworth and her husband of 47 years, Lee Roy Stanley.

She is survived by her daughter of Starks, Louisiana; four sisters; and five brothers.

The funeral were held on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the First Pentecostal Church, Starks, Louisiana, Rev. Greg Frazier officiating. Interment followed at Fountain Cemetery, Starks, Louisiana.
