James Denver Hansbrough, Jr., 61, of Taneytown, MD died unexpectedly Monday, April 7, 2014 at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster. Born October 13, 1952 in Shenandoah, VA, he was the son of James Denver Hansbrough, Sr. of Taneytown and the late Mary Lee Shifflett Murphy. He was the husband of Maria "Nini" Jardeleza Hansbrough, to whom he was married for 38 years.

Jim was an Administrative Assistant at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring where he worked for 38 years before retiring. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Taneytown. He loved animals, enjoyed collecting comic books, and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. Jim was very proud of his Native American heritage. Above all, he was a "God and country man."

Surviving in addition to his wife and father are children, Jessica Corey and husband Ian of Silver Spring, James Denver Hansbrough III of Harpers Ferry, WV, Juanita Korn and husband Patrick of Keymar, Joseph Hansbrough and wife Erica of Eldersburg, and Jericho and John Hansbrough of Taneytown; step-mother, Betty Hansbrough of Taneytown; sister, Reba Willman of Luray, VA; step-sisters, Tina Ray of Hanover, PA, Jamie Hale of Maine, and Debbie Myerly of Berkeley Springs, WV; step-brother, Mike Hansbrough of Taneytown; grandchildren, Alex and William Sturdivant, Lolita Corey, Bo, Maggie, and Joe Korn, and Grace Hansbrough; and nieces, Terri Haines, Becca King, and Cat Misar. He was predeceased by children, Juanita, Joshua and Jacob Hansbrough; granddaughter, Luna Korn; sister, Juanita Hansbrough; and brother-in-law Don Willman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 44 Frederick St., Taneytown, MD with Monsignor Martin E. Feild as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, MD.
