Jewel Emmitt Butler, Jr., 94, of Muskogee, Oklahoma entered Heaven’s gates Friday, July 28, 2017. He was born December 6, 1922 to Jewel Emmitt Buttler, Sr. and Maude (Spessard) Butler in San Bois, Oklahoma. Jewel was a high school graduate and attended college. Jewel married the love of his life Ethel Marie Daniel on August 15, 1943 in LeQuire, Oklahoma. They spent many happy years of life and marriage together. Jewel worked as a Material Clerk for Arkhola Sand and Gravel until 1977 and then at ACME Engineering until his retirement in 1987. He was ordained as a Deacon on May 20, 1951 and was serving as a deacon for Muskogee First Freewill Baptist Church. Jewel loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jewel and Maude Butler; wife, Ethel Butler; and half-sister, Wilma Tibbets. A celebration of Jewel’s life will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Muskogee First Freewill Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Ridley and Rev. Charles Smith officiating. Interment will follow at San Bois Cemetery.
