Irene E. (Rewerts) Pfiel, 86, of Doniphan died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 1995, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.
Services were Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Doniphan with the Rev. Rodney Amon officiating. Burial in Rosedale Cemetery at Rosedale. Visitation was at Brand-Wilson Mortuary in Hastings.
Mrs. Pfeil was born Jan. 9, 1909, to William and Anna (Schumann) Rewerts near Rosedale. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Church. She graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1929. On Feb. 18, 1934, she married Frederick Pfeil of Juniata at Christ Lutheran Church at Prosser. They farmed near Doniphan for more than 60 years. They moved to The Kensington in Hastings in late 1994.
She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 33 years and served as an officer for the Lutheran Women's Missionary League and Aid Association for Lutherans. She was a member of Rosedale Extension Club for more than 50 years. Happy Gardener's Club, Hastings Garden Club, Hall County Farm Bureau Women's Society and the Hall County Historical Society. She was a 4-H leader for nine years and served on the Hall County 4-H Council.
Survivors are her husband; one daughter, one son and six grandchildren.
