Parents:Captain Jacob Miller,Katherine Letcher of Germany.
Their plantation was called Green Spring.

Jacob Miller came to New Bern,NC in 1710 as one of the assistants chosen by Baron DeGraffenried to govern the new settlement.
Captian of the craven militia he protected the colonists from the indian attachs.

Civilla came to New Bern,North Carolina in 1710 with her parents.

John Martin a Lutheran Schoolmaster who accompanied the DeGraffenried colony to New Bern,NC in 1710 and served as a vestryman and magistrate in Craven County and later as a member of the Colonial Assembly,and Treasurer.He died March 1745 at his plantation "Chinpin" in Craven County,North Carolina.The grave is unmarked but there are family letters that confirm he and Civilla are buried here.
There are some markers for other family members that still remain.

Jacob Sheets was a justice of the Craven court and a leading spokesman for the interest of the Swiss and Palatines.
