Funeral services held Thursday for Lester Michael Foshee - Lester Michael Foshee, of Kosse, passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the Veterans Hospital in Waco, at age 70.
Services were held Thursday, December 31, at the First United Methodist Church of Kosse, with Reverend John Montgomery officiating. Burial followed at the Kosse City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Fairbairn, Grady G. Fairbairn, James Fairbairn, Barnett Lown, Robert O'Neal, and Randy Ingram.
Michael was born May 8, 1939, to Jack B. Foshee, Sr. and Doris (Mitchell) Foshee at Groesbeck. He grew up and attended school at Kosse. He served in the U.S. Army in the Signal Corps for two years, stationed in Germany. Michael was a barber all his life, barbering in Kosse, Bremond, Marlin, and Groesbeck. He worked in the 70's-80's at Bates Barber Shop in Groesbeck. He loved to spend a lot of his spare time fishing. Michael had a natural musical talent, and taught himself to play the violin/fiddle while in high school. He loved to play Country Western, especially Bob Wills music. He played with a band at the Veterans Hospital in Waco when his health permitted. He also repaired a large number of violins as a hobby.
Mr. Foshee was preceded in death by his father, Jack B. Foshee, Sr.
He is survived by loving family and friends.
