Mrs. Brummett was a member of the New River Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Brummett retired from the Scott County School System after teaching for 39 years in various Scott County schools.
She was born January 10, 1928 in Paint Rock area of Scott County and was the daughter of the late James Dillard Jeffers and Flona Helen Laxton and was preceded in death by the father of her children, Hermon Franklin Russell and 2nd husband, Odell Brummett. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Carl Jeffers and two sisters, Anna Mae Jeffers and Cassie Faye Williams.
Survivors include her children; daughter, Betty (Claude) Cheatham of West Carrollton, OH and son, Lonnie (Kathy) Russell of Huntsville, TN; brother-in-law, Charlie (Bud) Williams of Oneida; sisters-in-laws, Louise Hawn, Audrey Fern Russell and Christine Russell, all of Dayton, OH; four grandchildren: Evan (Anita) Cheatham of Edwardsville, IL; Cassandra Cheatham of West Carrollton, Alisa (Edward) Livesay of Centerville, OH; Daphne (Matt) Lewis of Huntsville, TN; eight great-grandchildren, Katelin Lewis, Kristin Lewis, Krista Livesay, Chelsea Livesay, Jodi Livesay, Sarah Cheatham, Logan Cheatham, and Sam Cheatham; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M., Wednesday Evening, April 9, 2014 in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville. Funeral services will be at 1:00 P.M., Thursday Afternoon, April 10, 2014 in the Chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home in Huntsville with Bro. Jeff Watson Officiating. Music will be provided by the Heartfelt Singers and Felecia Walker. Burial will follow in the Fairview Memorial Gardens.Pallbearers will be Evan Cheatham, Logan Cheatham, Sam Cheatham, Edward Livesay, Matt Lewis and Ben Neely.Honorary Pallbearer will be Charlie Bud Williams.Four Oaks Funeral Home of Huntsville is in charge of the funeral arrangements for the family of Reba Russell Brummett.
