BESSIE MAE SUMPTER
Bessie Mae Sumpter, 82, of Moberly, died Saturday, May 6, at Moberly Regional Medical Center, Moberly.
Mrs. Sumpter was born May 13, 1917 Carrolton, the daughter of James Davidson and Rosie Howard Davidson. She was a nurse's aide.
She married Roy D. Coureton and he preceded her in death. She then married George Roy Sumpter, and he preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, two of Moberly, and one of Kansas city; five daughters two of Moberly, one of Riverside, one of Higbee, one of Tawanda, Kansas. One brother, Daniel and Thelma Davidson of Newkirk, OK; three sisters, Levita and C.H. Taylor of Moberly, Mildred Hughes of Moberly, and Mrytle Prather of Cairo; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, one grandson, two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Services were at Million Taylor Funeral Home, Moberly with Rev. John Spilman officiating. Burial in Memorial Park, Moberly.
