Funeral services for Barbara Gandy, 79, of Seminole will be conducted Sunday, April 6th at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Ned Nugent officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home. She passed away Friday in Lubbock.
Barbara was born on May 28, 1934 to A.R. and Leau Ada Posey in Hereford. She married Ronnie Gandy August 22, 1958 in Temple, Oklahoma. Barbara began her teaching career in Forsan and Ackerly before moving to Seminole as an English and Speech teacher in 1972. Later she became High School Counselor in 1995 retiring in 2010 after 53 years and has achieved many accomplishments during her career. She was preceded in death by a brother and a daughter-in-law.
Barbara is survived by her husband Ronnie of Seminole; two sons Keith Gandy of Seminole and Kevin Gandy of Amarillo; one daughter Kara Beth Cox of Austin; along with nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial donations may be made to The First Baptist Church of Seminole.
Family and friends gathered Saturday from 4:00-5:30 p.m. for visitation in the Ratliff Funeral Home Chapel.
