Bertha (Beatrice) S. "Sandy" GEORGE, b. abt 1920 resident of Kettering, OH, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at St. Leonard Franciscan Living Community.

Sandy was born to the late John P. Kolaczynski and Eva Tomaszewski in Warren, MI. Her fondest accomplishment was working overseas for the American Red Cross during WWII, where she was assigned to the ARC Club Headquarters.

While in Naples, she continued to entertain GIs at camps, clubs, and station hospitals. Sandy was reassigned to Field Service near Marina-di-Pisa and then to Field Service in Foggia and later to Naples on TDY to the 392 Station Hospital.

Sandy was engaged to Sgt. Frank George on the Isle of Capri, married at the 55th Station Hospital Chapel in Foggia on November 16, 1946 and honeymooned in Paris. They returned to the USA in 1947 where she continued working with General Motors in public relations.

She enjoyed volunteering at Grandview Medical Center and was a member of St. Albert the Great Catholic Church. She was an active woman who loved to run, read and spend time with her loved ones.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dr. Frank W. George; son Dr. Frank W. George II; granddaughters, Jamie L. George and Kaylee O'Connor; brother, Edward Kolaczynski, and sisters Eleanore Walentowicz and Irene Chandler. She is survived by her sons, William, James and John, and numerous grandchildren, nieces' nephews and cousins.
