Mrs. Carrie Brotherton Lumbard, 84, of Etna, died at Tompkins Co. Memorial Hospital Friday, Dec. 18, after suffering a fractured hip on December 2nd.
Mrs. Lumbard was born in Etna, daughter of David and Betsey Brotherton. She was married to Enos Van Marter and lived in Waverly many years. After Mr. VanMarters death she married Arch Lumbard and has lived here the past thirty years.
She is survived by a step son, Laverne Lumbard of Etna and a step daughter, Mrs. Laverne Cotanch of Groton, a niece, Mrs. Clifford Turverey who lived with her, and several other nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held on Monday at the Perkins Funeral Home, Dryden, with Rev. C. S. Hunt officiating. Interment was at Willow Glen cemetery.
